This 500 piece jigsaw puzzle of Blackpool promenade in the 1950s has a lovely relaxing feel to it. Mum, dad and young children are enjoying a day out at the beach, the boy hoping to catch some fish. Sitting on the top deck of the streetcar will provide the passengers with a great view out to sea. In the background is Blackpool Tower, built in 1894 and inspired by the Eiffel tower, flying past is a double propeller aeroplane, perhaps whizzing off to the Isle of Man. This old-world Blackpool Promenade puzzle is made in Great Britain and is of superb quality, it has thick board that is built to last. Designed by the talented Derek Roberts, the puzzle’s assembled size is approximately 19.3” x 13.4”. The colors are subtle, adding to its old-world charm and the shop fronts are so inviting. This is a puzzle that will surely have you wishing for a sunny day so that you can go rock pooling and of course build a giant sandcastle.
Warning: Choking hazard. Small pieces. Not for children under 3.
Pieces would fit in several different areas, and it was tough to determine if they were correct or not. In fact the top edge of the sky had to wait until I filled in the inside to get the edge pieces in the correct placement. Will not be doing it again, even though I enjoyed the photo.
I liked the puzzle and appreciate it was hand cut but was very disappointed I was missing a piece. I still liked doing the puzzle, but wished it had been complete. I took the pieces out of the bag at the puzzle table and they didn’t go anywhere, so I know it was incomplete. Too bad!
